Shaving Cream Tub Paint

Saturday, May 12, 2012 1 Comment

Shaving Cream Tub Paint is a super-duper-easy-peasy fun activity for the tub!  I grabbed a bunch of muffin tins from the dollar store a while back knowing that they would provide me with something useful in the future.  Now what kid wouldn’t want to color on the walls and have their mama be okay with it?!

Shaving Cream Tub Paint provides kiddo creative freedom while they get their clean on…and it is an amazing, easy clean-up – just spray it down! Find it on @mamamissblog

This activity provides the kiddos with creative freedom while they get their clean on…and it is an amazing, easy clean-up – just take the shower head off & spray it down…done, done, & done!

It only requires minimal tools.

  • a muffin tin (dollar store baybee!!!)
  • shaving cream (I use the unscented, sensitive skin brand…I believe it works best for this…it’s more delicate on their skin and your children don’t come out of the bath smelling like a grown man ;)
  • food coloring (the gel type works best for arts & crafts projects…it leaves less color on the skin (& on the wall in this case!) – Just add a couple of drops for each color.
  • a paintbrush or two.

Then, let them go to town. And you know what, I bet they will love it!

V loves it!  Every single time I pull out that muffin tin, she starts dancing in her funny little V dancing way. And, THAT ALONE, makes me want to do it every night for bath time.

Keep in mind.

Now, after you’ve done the clean-up, don’t freak out, because I am warning you now – if your little Picasso colored outside of the lines (which I advocate – who needs lines anyway)?! :), it WILL stain your white grout.  Do not worry, it will go away.  First, you can either put some elbow grease into it, and rub it down after they go to bed. Or, you could instead, relax and let it fade on its own.  I always choose the latter. If something provides me one less thing to clean, I say, “YES”, where do I sign up?!
